In the midst of the chaos of our own lives we tend lose sight of the pain of others. We spend our days thinking about tonight, tomorrow, next year; never considering the void that may be just around the corner.
Sure we may notice our neighbor’s bad mood or tearful moment, but we tend to brush them off as normal drama in an everyday life. We stay out of their way; justifying it as respecting their privacy.
Today we said goodbye to Kirstie; a beautiful young woman, only 19, who had her whole life ahead of her…or so we thought.
Had we only known the despair she felt; the pain she was in, every one of us would have stopped her and held her and let her know she wasn’t alone. Instead we all reflect on what we missed; those teary moments; those angry rants…so few it seemed; so minor we thought. The memory of her laughter is just a sad reminder of the heartache hiding behind it.
In her wildest dreams she could not have imagined the lives she touched and the sorrow we must all bear. Kirstie, we will miss you always and hope that you are at peace.
*hug* I am so sorry for your loss, Cheryl. May she have peace.
